Grace and the Reading of Scripture | Deuteronomy 6:4-9
As is our practice during this time of year, we are using these summer months to look at the OT. This year we wish to consider the “habits of grace” found in the pages of Scripture. Things like fellowship, forgiveness, mission, generosity, sabbath, and prayer. The Word of God is clear. Our lives are “all grace” from beginning to end: grace alone, grace amazing, grace bounding.
And yet it’s also clear from God’s Word that certain habits follow from this “all grace.”2 These habits do not save us, but they are responses to the mercy and love of God in our lives. They are not simply rote duty, but they are gifts given to us as kingdom citizens.
