Grace and a Life of Gratitude | Psalm 136

We’ve spent these summer months looking at habits of grace found in both the OT/NT: things like hospitality and confession, kindness and supplication, lament and hope, sacraments and fellowship.  And as we’ve said from the very beginning of this series, not one of these habits is to be understood as an onerous task rooted in human effort, but instead as a gift given to us by God and rooted in Christ’s redeeming work.  Today, we’re looking at a habit that in one form or another connects to almost everything we’ve considered over the past few months.  We’re going to look at the habit of gratitude.  We’ll start in the OT; we’ll then move to the NT.
