Born-Again Exiles | I Peter 1:3-12

As Mark shared last week, we’re spending these fall months looking at 1 Peter.  This was a

letter written to followers of Jesus living in a world that was hostile to the Christian faith. So Peter writes this letter in order to encourage his readers.  But also, in order to help them understand what it means to live out their faith in the real world.  Today, I want to dovetail off of some of the things Mark spoke of last week.  We’ll work our way through the text. We’ll talk about this stuff concerning being “born again.”  And then we’ll spend some time in verse 8 and talk about what it means to live by faith even when we do not necessarily feel God’s presence.
