Living as Christmas People | Luke 2:1-20

In the ancient church, Christmas was celebrated, for not just one day, but for twelve consecutive days.  This took place for a reason; it was there to reinforce and underscore the church’s call to be Christmas people—people who understand the significance of Christ becoming part of His creation in order to redeem His creation.  So, here at TCC, we seek to do the same.  And because of that (as you probably already noticed), we do not put away the Christmas carols and decorations right away.  Instead, we keep them there all the way through Epiphany Sunday.  And we do this so the story of Christ birth might continue to shape us, and form us, and turn us—not simply into people who obey a set of rules—but instead into people who have been transformed by Christ’s grace and redemption.  So to that end, we want to spend today looking at this story one more time.
